Keeping up with the news on the radiation from the nuclear plant in Fukushima... This seems to be the most important thing this week. People back home are asking if I am going back or telling me that I should go back. However, everything here is as per normal. The students are coming to school and everyone is leading a normal life. It is still relatively safe from radiation. I will be staying put till further notice or emergency alerts.

Thursday is "Music Day" cos I go for music lessons and learn to sing Japanese songs.
This week I started asking for donations from the teachers for the Charity Bike Ride. Instead of donating to "Room to Read", the donations collected this week will be given to Red Cross to help the victims of the terrible earthquake. I read something in Japanese to ask for donations (badly done), but at least the teachers understood me. Raising funds is one thing I can do to help.
This weekend is the bike ride. It will be a challenge for me to cycle for 3 days. I hope I can finish it with determination, cos don't think I have 3 days of stamina. I have to thank the teachers for helping me. Ishikawa sensei for lending me his bike; Hida Sensei and Miyabi Sensei for helping me transport the bike to Beppu and back to Saiki. Without them, I wouldn't be able to join the cycling trip.

Life goes back to normal.. nicely said. It's heartening to see how strong the Japanese are... Take care erjie!! :)
