Waking up early on a Saturday morning (earlier than waking up for school) to catch a train to MieMachi (三重町）isn't easy, but I have a farming event today at Morita's Farm . It is an organic farm owned by an old couple. Their farm is really big and they depend a lot on volunteers to help in weeding and harvesting. We were actually scheduled to harvest rice, yes the precious RICE of Japan, but we were too late for that. The rice harvesting was last weekend. We were asked to pull out weeds. Its kind of easy, plucking out weeds, not much thinking involved. Some others prepared lunch (all organic food) for everyone. Lunch was great! All in all, I had a great time being in the nature and meeting more ALTs in Oita. Tanoshi! (Enjoyable)
