伏見稲荷大社 。Fushimi Inari Shrine
Fushimi Inari Taisha (伏見稲荷大社) is the head shrine of Inari, located in Fushimi ku-Kyoto, Japan. The shrine sits at the base of a mountain also named Inari and includes trails up the mountain to many smaller shrines. Since in early Japan Inari was seen as the patron of business, each of the Torii is donated by a Japanese business. First and foremost though, Merchants and manufacturers worship Inari (the god of rice), for wealth. Donated torri lining footpaths are part of the scenic view.
And this is where they filmed Memoir of the Geisha where Zhang Ziyi ran... Actually I can't remember the scene.

清水寺 。Kiyomizu Dera
Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺), officially Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera (音羽山清水寺) is an independent Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) UNESCO World Heritage site.

Took a walk to Gion (shopping district/ Geisha district?) after visiting Kiyomezudera in the rain. We were all very tired, so we stoped for a drink at this green tea cafe. The dessert looks good but the green tea au lait was not to my liking. But it's a nice place to chill. We wanted to shop for a while before heading to a cheap toufu shop we saw, but we went too late, the shop was closed. We ended up eating at 餃子の王将.

Day 4
23 November 2010
We wanted to go to 银阁寺 (Jinkakuji）in the morning before we head back to Oita, but there was NO lockers at the train station to deposit our bag and luggage. No choice, we had to forgo that and go shopping with our bags. Went to Muji to get my new organiser and bought some cheaper clothes at GAP sales. We still had to shop for omiyages, which was so difficult!
