9 November - 10 November 2010 Mid-Year Seminar in Oita City

On Monday night, I took a ride from my sensei to Oita City (to save money) and had dinner with Kiyomi and a new friend, Sunny. Had to wait for them till 8pm, was too hungry to take any photos. Stayed over at Kiyomi's house (my 2nd home in Oita) and went off for seminar the next day. We had Mister Donut and coffee for breakfast for 2 mornings. Yummy! Mister Donut is a famous brand of donut in Japan and it is celebrating its 40th Anniversary and there will be some promotions of 100 yen donuts. I like the mochi donuts, very interesting. I got a pointcard for Mister Donut, maybe I can get enough points in a year to exchange for the lion!

These 3 are my favourite!!!
The small version of this lion require 500 points...
There's nothing interesting to blog about Mid-Year Seminar (MYS). Had some sharing by other ALTS and some lectures. I met some ALTs there, well, aquintances, not sure if they will remember the next time we meet again. I had fun after MYS though.

On Tuesday, after MSY, we went to shop around and I had the Chiristmas coffee (Caramel Eclair Latte) at Starbucks. I ordered the cold one and it doesn't come in the nice christmas cup. (so disapointing!) I will be back to try another christmas drink, this time round it will be a hot one. I saw a nice tumbler with a snowman, I think I will buy it, though I am waiting for the Spring design. I have been drinking a lot of coffee eversince I reached Japan. I don't understand why.
Caramel Eclair Latte

Nice Christmas cups, but only for hot drinks
I think I will buy this! I love the design!

We (Kiyomi, Peihoon, Sung Hee and me) had dinner at a Mexican restaurant (Ethnic Bros). It is a small cosy restaurant and the food is good. Me and Sung Hee agreed that it will be a good place for our birthday (cos her bdae is also in Dec). The food is good and the service is excellent! We wanted a photo together and the boss brought out costumes and flashlight to take a picture for us.

Tacos
Spicy fries
Can't remember what this is, but it's delicious
More food! Sung Hee is a Korean from Hawaii...
Mexican!!!
After dinner, Kiyomi and I went for onsen at Sama Sama. I love onsens! Sama Sama even has a relaxation room with massage chairs and tv. A great place to relax! We spent a long time there and ended our day with ice-cream from Baskin Robbins.

Strawberry Cheesecake ice-cream!!!
On Wednesday, I have decided that I should try to get to know some other Ang Mohs ALT. I had different workshops from Kiyomi so we went out separate way, a chance to get to know others on my own. But like I say, I did know some people , talked to them over lunch, made small talks, but I really don't know what will happen next. I donno if we will hang out or they will remember me or not. Well, but it's a good start. We had dinner at Sushi Meijin and ate my first chawamushi in Japan. Was a tiring day, eventhough we didn't do much. And I lost my red scarf. upset with myself for being careless!
