Haven't blog for 1 week...

It's been 1 week since I blogged... One reason is I can't post anymore photos till I pay (I am just too lazy and too stingy now to do that..) The other reason is I guess everything has more or less settled down, i am getting use to life here and also getting use to the cold weather here. School was as usual, I went for a festival, I baked and life goes on...

10 interesting happenings for this week:

1) I saw 2 ( not 1 but 2) senseis scolding their students this week, so teachers here DO scold their students.

2) 2 of the English teachers that I am close to are leaving the school. 1 of them is leaving in Feb cos the teacher on maternity leave is coming back; 1 of them is quitting and moving to Tokyo cos her boyfriend proposed to her. Happy for them, but also sad that they are leaving. They have been very nice to me and took great care of me. Wishing them all the best!

3) I went for drumming on Tuesday and there were only me and Mako. I had private lesson with him. I managed to practise and master some rhythm. Missed the rest of the people, but it was a fantastic sesssion.

4) I conducted part 2 of the Newsletter lessons with my 2nd grade students. I have collected some of the newsletters and they are beautifully done. I asked for a display board so that I can pin up all their newsletters. I'm so proud of them!

5) The 3rd grade students are in the midst of preparing for their presentations next week. I can see that they are putting in more effort now and they have shown improvement in their presentation and attitude. I hope they put up a great show next week.

6) English Club will be introducing Chinese New Year to the students. I will be working with my 1 student from ESSS on that. Afterwhich, we will be doing a scrapbook on the school cos this year, the school celebrates its 100 years.

7) I took a photo of the beautiful sky this evening while cycling home.

8) I baked a Strawberry Crumble Cake just now. It is meant to be a birthday cake for a friend. It look ok, but I think I baked it a little too long, so the top was a little too dark. I had some batter left after filling the cake pan, so I added in crushed oreos to make small strawberry oreo cupcakes. These cupcakes looks nicer and it taste really good, a little sweet, a little sour,  and a little chocolaty...Nice!

9) Tomorrow, I'm off to Bungo Takada again. This time round I will be going to Peihoon's house with Kiyomi to have our early Chinese New Year Nabe Reunion Dinner. It will be fun!

10) Oh... I think this happened last week... Hee.. but it is interesting enough to be on the list. I heard a nabe song in the supermarket. It went " Nabe, nabe, nabe, nabe....lalalala" I was trying to control my laughter in the supermarket. It sure sounds a little vulgar to me... haha...

A summary of the week :)
